Steve lectures on the importance of music in the learning development of young children and takes the magic out of TV shows, cartoons, music and stage shows by explaining and training children in how entertainment is created, from concept to completion.
His lectures for early childhood educators and counselors are fun, informative, real-world training in how to use music effectively to enhance the physical, emotional, and learning skills of young children.
Steve also teaches children how to make what they experience every day: TV shows, cartoons and popular music. He and the students will write scripts or music that emphasize good life lessons like friendship and the value of school. During each workshop the children will also learn team building, care of equipment, sharing of responsibility, organization, and the joy of creation. The workshops are a great way to build self-esteem in at-risk students or to reward the gifted and talented. The value of these workshops continues long after they are over as the students play their finished CDs or DVDs and receive praise from their family and peers.

Music is crucial in improving mental and physical development, and enhances critical skills like reading and math. In this one hour lecture with one hour companion workshop, Steve will discuss important developmental abilities like sequencing, spatial orientation, and appropriate learning behavior then demonstrate their application by performing selected songs from his children’s albums “The World is a Rainbow” and “Dinosaur Rhythms”. You will learn how to use the power of music to help your classroom run smoother and teach more effectively.
