Music always has been one of his great loves. As a musician, Steve has lived in Boston, Manhattan, Atlanta, Jackson, and Las Vegas. He has toured all over the U.S., Japan, and Philippines in original and concert bands like the Chubby Checker Show, sharing the stage with acts like the Beach Boys, Cheap Trick, Talking Heads, and Sammy Davis, Jr.
While on vacation at home in Iowa he was asked to compose a song for an elementary school. It was a song to promote a special reading program for elementary school children. He wrote the words and music to the song and titled it "I Like To Read." The song was so popular that it became a theme song for the whole school district.
Steve Couch now lives in Iowa and has a child of his own.
He composes and performs children's music for kids of ages from 3 to 10 years old using their interests as his themes which have produced the childrens' favorites "Friends," "Animal Dancing," "Junk In My Room," and others including the musical story of the "Liberated Princess."
Steve also loves making videos and cartoons. After moving back to Iowa, he worked as a Public Access Director in the Cable Television Company in Muscatine helping people learn how to make their own television shows. He went on to create a video and interactive animation department for a national OSHA safety training company.
And now he works for himself, creating and performing songs and helping children understand how to prevent bullying, succeed in school, and make videos and cartoons of their very own!
